Jordan Kaplan joined Betty, Neuman & McMahon, P.L.C. straight out of law school in 2008. His practice includes representation of businesses and individuals in the areas of workers’ compensation defense, personal injury defense, business and corporate law, estate planning, probate, and real estate.
Jordan is originally from Deerfield, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a focus on English and Business. After working in business a few years, Jordan attended Drake University Law School where he was selected as a First-Year Oral Argument Finalist, was a member of the Environmental Moot Court team, received top A grades in Advanced Torts and Federal Income Tax, and graduated with honors. Since working at Betty, Neuman & McMahon, P.L.C., Jordan has successfully represented clients in trials ranging from motor vehicle accidents to consumer fraud to workers’ compensation claims in Iowa and Illinois. Additionally, Jordan has successfully briefed and argued dispositive motions and appeals to various Iowa District Courts and the Iowa Court of Appeals.
In 2015, Jordan was elected by his peers as President of the Scott County Bar Association and served in that role until his term ended in 2017. Jordan currently serves on the Board of Directors of Community Health Care, Inc. and is Chair of its Audit and Bylaws Committees and is a member of its Finance Committee. In addition to his community involvement, Jordan has been active with speaking engagements as a presenter at various continuing legal education events.
Jordan lives in Davenport, Iowa with his wife, two children and dog.
